Guest Info

RR Turtle 3 (1 of 1)DEAR GUESTS,

IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH TO SEE ONE OF MY RESIDENT DESERT TORTOISES ON THE PROPERTY, PLEASE KEEP YOUR DISTANCE AND DO NOT TOUCH THEM.

LEFT ALONE, THEY CAN LIVE TO AN AGE OF ALMOST 200 YEARS. BUT IF THE BACTERIA CARRIED ON HUMAN SKIN COMES IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THEIR SHELL, IT CAN SHORTEN THEIR LIFE SPAN BY MORE THAN 50%.

IF THEY ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD, OR IN THE DRIVEWAY IN THE WAY OF YOUR CAR, AND ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO BE MOVED, USE A TOWEL OR GLOVES TO GENTLY PICK THEM UP AND MOVE THEM OUT OF THE WAY IN THE DIRECTION THEY ARE ALREADY TRAVELING. ALSO, KEEP THEM CLOSE TO THE GROUND – 6 INCHES ABOVE – AS YOU MOVE THEM.

IT’S  A GOOD IDEA TO LOOK UNDER YOUR CAR BEFORE YOU DRIVE OFF, TO MAKE SURE ONE IS NOT UNDER THERE.

IT’S ALSO A GOOD IDEA TO KEEP YOUR DOORS SHUT, SO LITTLE CRITTERS WON’T FIND THEIR WAY INTO YOUR CABINS.

WATCH FOR:
EVERY EVENING, JUST AFTER THE SUN SETS, YOU CAN WITNESS THE PARADE OF QUAILS, COMING DOWN THE HILL THROUGH THE BUSHES, ACROSS THE DRIVEWAYS, AND UP INTO THE PALM TREES (AND SOME OF THE OTHER TREES) FOR THE NIGHT.

PLEASE NO SMOKING IN THE CABINS….ASHTRAYS ARE LOCATED ON THE PATIOS.

Help yourself to any food/condiments left by previous guests.
Extra bedding for sofa bed(s) can be found in the living room cupboard (of Mustang) or sitting room closet  (of Casita).
Trash dumpster is located on the road just past solar panels, if you need to empty trash containers while staying here.
