This is a super-cool original desert homestead house built in 1958, with pink concrete block and beamed ceiling. Completely renovated & modernized, May 2012, for maximum comfort.....all new copper plumbing, wiring, new kitchen, beautiful carpentry details, and new state of the art heating & cooling system. It also has a freestanding vintage Swedish fireplace in the living room, and small vintage wood burning stove in the kitchen.
Chickasaw Homestead is 100% solar powered and never owner occupied.
The house sits alone on a 5-acre parcel, with incredible desert & boulder views, and no immediate neighbors. You can hike into spectacular boulder formations directly from the property. 2 miles to the town of Joshua Tree with its cafes, art galleries, farmers' market, health food store, outdoor shops & saloon. The Joshua Tree National Park Visitor's Center is also there, 2 miles from the house, with entrance to the Park itself a short drive beyond that.
There is a covered carport and small extra cabin-ette...perfect for writers or small studio use.
This is my 3rd Vacation Rental house - an outpost (1/2 mile away) from my original Rattler Ranch property (Casita de la Señorita, and the Mustang). I have been renting these other houses for 8 years, and have many guests returning again and again for the peace, quiet, wildlife, views and hospitality. None of these houses are ever owner-occupied, and are clutter-free and professionally cleaned.
The Chickasaw Homestead is close to town, but feels miles away.
